This policy explains how Book Club Ready handles personal information when you use https://bookclubready.com or contact us. It covers our publication, not other websites linked from it. For questions or requests, email info@bookclubready.com.
Information we handle
Messages: if you email us, we receive your email address, name if provided, message, and any attachments you choose to send. Please avoid sending sensitive information or another person’s details without permission.
Technical information: our hosting and security services may process IP addresses, browser and device information, requested pages, referring pages, timestamps, and error or security logs to deliver and protect the website.
Site administration: WordPress uses account information and essential session cookies for authorized administrators. Public account registration and public comments are not enabled. We currently do not operate a newsletter signup, customer checkout, behavioural advertising, or a third-party audience analytics tool on this site.
Why we use it
We use messages to answer questions, review corrections, handle privacy requests, and manage relevant correspondence. Technical information helps us deliver pages, prevent abuse, diagnose faults, and maintain the site. Where UK data-protection law applies, these activities generally rely on our legitimate interests in operating a secure publication and responding to people who contact us, subject to their rights. We may also process information to meet a legal obligation. We will seek consent where required for optional marketing or tracking if these are introduced.
Cookies and similar storage
We use the WordPress and hosting functions needed to run and secure the site. Administrative login cookies are used when someone signs in. If optional tracking is introduced, we will update these notices and provide any required consent controls before it runs.
Who receives information
Hostinger provides our website hosting and technical services. Our email provider processes correspondence sent to our inbox. Service providers may handle information as needed to provide, secure, and support those services. We may disclose information if legally required or where necessary to address fraud, abuse, or a legal claim. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
International processing
We serve readers in several countries. Hosting, email, and support infrastructure may process information outside your home country. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we will use the appropriate contractual or other lawful safeguards. How long we keep information
We keep correspondence only as long as needed to handle the enquiry, follow up, and maintain necessary records. Technical logs and backups follow the hosting provider’s operational retention cycles. Information may be retained longer where required for legal obligations or a dispute. You can ask us about a particular record or request deletion; we will explain any reason we must retain it.
Your choices and rights
Depending on your location and the law that applies, you may be able to request access, correction, deletion, a portable copy, restriction of processing, or object to certain uses. You may withdraw consent for consent-based processing without affecting earlier lawful use. Email us with “Privacy request” in the subject and explain what you need. We may request limited information to verify your identity and will respond within the period required by applicable law.
